For schools, academies and companies

Your dancers are technically ready. The question is whether they are mentally prepared for what you're asking of them.

Naira Agvanean is a soloist with Dutch National Ballet and an iPEC certified coach. She delivers performance-mindset workshops, audition-season intensives and season-long residencies for schools, academies and companies: from inside the profession, in the language your dancers already speak.

The institutional problem

What it costs you when a dancer's mind gives way before her body does.

Audition-season attrition

Graduating students who audition badly, then stop auditioning. The talent was there. The capacity to keep going after the fourth no wasn't.

The third-year collapse

The dancer who was thriving and is now quietly disengaging: overtraining, underperforming, or on the edge of leaving the profession entirely.

Injury and recovery time

Dancers who push through what they should report, and dancers who are physically cleared but not psychologically ready to go back on.

A defensible answer

When a parent, a board or an inspector asks what you do about performance anxiety and dancer wellbeing, you need something better than good intentions.

None of this is a technique problem, which is why more hours in the studio don't fix it. It is a mindset problem, and it is trainable: in groups, at scale, with the same rigour you already apply to physical preparation.

Indicative fees, exempt from VAT, excluding travel and accommodation outside the Netherlands. Final fees are set in consultation. See how the rate is built, below.

Performance Mindset Workshop

Two hours · up to 30 dancers · on site or online

A single session that gives a whole year group or company a shared language for what happens under pressure, plus two tools they use the same week. The usual entry point, and the one that tells you whether to go further.

  • Two-hour interactive session, not a lecture
  • Pre-session scoping call with the artistic or pastoral lead
  • Take-home exercise sheet for every dancer
  • Written themes summary for staff afterwards

from €950

About €32 per dancer at 30 participants

Audition-Season Intensive

Four sessions across a term · graduating years

Built for the cohort walking into audition season. Four sessions timed to the season itself: before the applications, before the first round, in the middle of the rejections, and after. The students keep the materials for the years of auditions still ahead of them.

  • Four group sessions timed to the audition calendar
  • The Audition Week Protocol for every student
  • A staff briefing on how to support the cohort between sessions
  • End-of-term themes report, anonymised

€3,200 – €4,500

Depending on cohort size and whether sessions are on site

Season-Long Residency

A full season · embedded

Mindset becomes part of how the institution works rather than an event in its calendar: recurring group sessions, a confidential 1:1 allocation for the dancers who need it most, and staff sessions so the language survives after she leaves.

  • Recurring group sessions across the season
  • A pool of confidential 1:1 sessions you allocate
  • Training for teachers, répétiteurs and pastoral staff
  • Written framework you keep and can run yourselves

€8,000 – €12,000

Scoped per season; payable in instalments across the year

How the fee is set

A rate you can defend in a Fair Practice budget.

There is no published fee guideline for mindset specialists in dance. Where a discipline has no guideline, the Fair Practice Code's position is that the rate is set in consultation, and funders accept a rate based on a comparable CAO or guideline as long as the reasoning is stated.

So the reasoning is stated. A two-hour workshop is roughly five hours of work once scoping, preparation, travel, delivery and the written follow-up are counted. At €950 that is about €190 an hour for a certified coach who is also a working professional dancer, and about €32 per dancer reached. Both numbers are defensible in a budget, and neither is negotiated in the dark.

What the institution receives

  • 01 A scoping call before anything is agreed, so the session addresses your cohort rather than a generic one.
  • 02 Delivery by a certified iPEC coach, NLP practitioner and current professional dancer.
  • 03 Materials every dancer keeps, so the work continues after she leaves the building.
  • 04 An anonymised themes report for staff: what the cohort is carrying, never who said what.
  • 05 A written referral protocol for anything that belongs with a clinician rather than a coach.
  • 06 Invoicing, insurance and confidentiality terms in writing, and a single named contact.
